Pregnancy Testing
A sonagram is given to confirm pregnancy and delivery date. Women with a positive pregnancy test receives the following:
- A "Report of Pregnancy" for Medicaid and other referrals
- Prenatal development information
- Prenatal vitamins (starter pack)
- Information on STDs in pregnancy and testing referral
- Discussion on choices of parenting, marriage, adoption
- Referrals to maternity homes
- Information regarding nutrition in pregnancy
- Effects of smoking in pregnancy, with strategies to quit
- Spiritual counseling
- Ongoing counseling
A women with a negative test receives the following:
- Abstinence counseling and literature
- STD brochures and testing information
- Appropriate individual emotional and spiritual follow-up
Pregnancy Support Group
This is an exciting eight-week study that includes all aspects of preparation for motherhood. It culminates in a baby shower for each participant.
Parenting Class
We offer a unique parenting class, combining the study of the Bible with parenting skills.
Adoption Referrals
Information, referral and transportation, if necessary, to several North Texas maternity homes.
Ultrasound Services
A sonogram machine has been purchased, allowing us to offer limited ultrasound services. Two registered nurses give sonograms with oversight by a licensed medical physician. THis ministry allows women who are considering abortion to see their unborn baby's development, and hopefully choose life!
Abortion Information
Medical facts and data on commonly performed abortion procedures, as well as their physical, emotional and spiritual effects.
Post Abortion Support
A post-abortion program is tailored to meet individual needs for recovery of the emotional and spiritual consequences of abortion. This group is led by lay people trained and experienced in the post abortion healing process.
STD Testing
In conjunction with MHMR of Tarrant County, HIV testing is performed.
A partnership with the Tarrant County Health Department is currently under discussion that will allow our center to offer free sexually transmitted diseases (STD) testing. Clients unable to go to the Health Department would be able to receive testing at the PHC.
Counseling
Two licensed professional counselors are available for individual and marriage therapy.
Physical Aid and Assistance
A woman may receive any or all of the following: (as available)
- Maternity Clothes
- Baby clothes, newborn up to size 2
- Diapers
- Baby food and formula
- Baby equipment-beds, strollers, high chairs, play pens, bassinets, swings, walker and car seats
Community Outreach
We provide presentations to churches, youth groups and civic organizations on any topic related to our services including:
- Educational information on sexually transmitted disease
- Abstinence Program: "Meant for Marriage"
- Pregnancy presentations
- Child development topics
Our staff serve as professional resources for programs and panels throughout the area including information booths at health fairs, community centers and public forums throughout the county with contact information and literature on pregnancy, prenatal development, STDs and healthy lifestyle choices.
Other Referrals
Referrals are made for housing, shelters, financial assistance, addiction and detox programs, legal iad, educational resources and job training, as necessary.
